Iconic WRC stars in action at Rallyday
BILSTEIN has a long heritage in motorsport, supplying some of the most successful teams in the world. One of the most exciting championships is the WRC, where suspension components must perform at the very highest level.
From punishing tarmac stages to rutted gravel tracks, huge demands are placed on dampers, which is where our many years of experience and expertise comes to the fore.
A selection of BILSTEIN-equipped cars were at the recent Rallyday Event, held at Castle Combe. Each year, the Wiltshire circuit welcomes some of the biggest names in rallying, alongside a plethora of stunning cars from the past and present.
This year, the feature line-up of rallying greats included a Ford RS200, two ex-Works Subaru Impreza WRXs (originally driven by Colin McRae and Richard Burns), a rare Ford RS1700 T (one of only five in existence) and the star of the show – a Lancia Delta S4. Each of these iconic cars was in immaculate condition and each fitted with BILSTEIN competition suspension.
But they weren’t just there to look pretty. Each of these rallying legends was driven on the special Feature Stage, which gave the crowds the chance to see them up close in action. With guest drivers including current WRC contender, Craig Breen and former stars Didier Auriol and Alistair McRace, it really was a spectacle to behold. The sound of the twin-charged (turbo and supercharged) Delta S4 was a particular treat as it was flung around the tight course.
