Long bonnet, rear-wheel drive and a freely breathing naturally aspirated engine: Toyota shows its competition what an affordable sports car should look like. With the new GR86, the Japanese have put a fun-to-drive machine on the asphalt that is beyond reproach in terms of driving dynamics. And for particularly ambitious GR86 drivers, Toyota even supplies the sports coupé with an optional BILSTEIN coilover suspension for even more driving pleasure!
With the Toyota GR86, the Japanese are following a consistent path. 2.4-litre boxer engine with 235 hp, rear-wheel drive and a very low centre of gravity: with its classic sports car concept, the Japanese sports coupé already impresses with impressive driving dynamics ex works. And it can now be sharpened up even further.

Both suspension systems can be ordered in the official Toyota catalogue as “Performance Upgrade Parts”. Our performance suspension units are available both from your Toyota dealer and from our BILSTEIN dealers and workshops, as well as in the BILSTEIN online shop.
BILSTEIN coilovers: The Toyota GR86 fillets corners like a Santoku knife
Whether BILSTEIN B14 or BILSTEIN B16: with both sports suspensions, corners can now be dissected with almost surgical precision. Razor-sharp, agile handling and maximum driving pleasure are guaranteed!
Ingenious optics – maximum performance
Both suspensions also impress with their sporty, harmonious set-up, which gives their driver a lot of confidence in the car. The two coilover suspensions also offer impressive lowering. This means that the GR86, which is already quite low, can be lowered even further with the BILSTEIN B14 and BILSTEIN B16 without GR86 drivers having to reckon with problems in everyday driving.
Both suspensions work with a TÜV-compliant lowering of ca. 10 to 30 mm, which can be adjusted individually, continuously and with threads to spare. Track drivers get a racetrack-compatible coilover suspension with the BILSTEIN B16, which allows them to develop their personal shock absorber set-up: With 10 clicks, the rebound and compression damping can be adjusted in parallel via an aluminium adjustment wheel.

Close cooperation with Toyota
The new coilovers for the Toyota GR86 mark another highlight in our very close collaboration with Toyota. The two companies already worked closely together on our Tracktool project, in which we radically made a Toyota Supra fit for the racetrack together with the BILSTEIN community.
Among other things, we were able to exhibit the BILSTEIN Supra on the “Toyota Experience exhibition stand” at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring. In addition, Toyota customers were able to experience the impressive driving characteristics of the Toyota GR86. And our suspension kits were also exhibited by Toyota.
